Jason specialises in cross-border construction and engineering disputes with a particular focus on: shipbuilding and offshore projects disputes; marine design & license disputes; marine equipment purchase disputes; guarantee disputes and insolvency and restructuring etc. Jason has an excellent grasp of the complex technical issues that frequently arise in construction and engineering disputes. Jason has considerable experience of handling cases that are factually and technically complex with a corresponding level of documents. Jason appears regularly in London arbitrations including LMAA and ad hoc arbitrations as well as Hong Kong arbitrations, Singapore arbitrations and domestic arbitrations including CIETAC, CMAC etc. and he appears regularly in Chinese courts of various levels. He assists the clients in drafting legal documents and contracts and attending various commercial negotiations. He also works closely and effectively with leading lawyers from other jurisdictions. Jason’s broad experience also includes various maritime disputes in respect of ship arrest and release, maritime contracts etc.
Jason also advised international and Chinese clients on foreign direct investment and mergers and acquisitions in P.R. China, in particular in the fields of registration & filing, operation, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy and liquidation of Sino-foreign equity joint ventures, Sino-foreign cooperative joint ventures, wholly foreign owned enterprises, holding company and representative offices; advising multinational and Chinese companies on various litigations, arbitrations and disputes settlement, advising international and Chinese clients on corporate law, contract law, intellectual property law, labor law, tax law, international trade, joint venture disputes and other commercial issues.
Jason gained his master at Fudan University and BA at East China Normal University.
