On May 12, 2008, a strong earthquake measuring 8.0 magnitude has brought severe tragedy to Sichuan and many other provinces. Wenchuan Earthquake is the most devastating and widest earthquake since the establishment of People’s Republic of China.
When disaster struck, help came from all sides. Yao Liang Law Offices in Shanghai and Beijing build up donation, raising RMB90,000 for helping earthquake victims, in which all employees voluntarily and actively participated. May 19 2008 was the national mourning day. On 14:28 p.m., seven days after the occurrence of Wenchuan Earthquake, China held the largest-scale mass mourning activity. Yao Liang Law Offices also held mourning, candles around, all employee stood in silence for three minutes to deeply mourn on the death and pray for the survival victims to build a new home with joint effort.
