Mr. William Godwin, a specialist practicing barrister from London, UK, visited our Shanghai office on June 28, 2010. In the afternoon, Mr. Godwin gave us a very interesting and intriguing presentation on "EPC/Turnkey Contracts: Recent Experience". He made a comprehensive analysis of the hot points of EPC project in the engineering construction area. Mr. Goodwin's informational lecture opened many thoughts for our colleagues and he was able to thoroughly answer any questions on the topic.
Mr. Godwin has been a specialist practicing barrister with over twenty years' experience in international arbitration and court litigation in a wide range of commercial, construction and technical disputes. His experience includes practice in the leading barristers' chambers for both construction and technical cases and in shipping and maritime law, including shipbuilding and repair cases. He was appointed member of the foreign arbitrators' panel of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) and an accredited adjudicator of the Technology and Construction Bar Association of England and Wales. Mr. Godwin was a visiting lecturer in Chinese arbitration law at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London University; a visiting lecturer in marine operations and in insurance at the City University, London. He was also a visiting lecturer in arbitration at China University of Political Science and Law. Mr. Godwin is currently a barrister at 3 Hare Court Barristers' Chambers in London.
